2. Tenants

Personal information may be requested from prospective commercial tenants and is required from all prospective residential tenants in order to support the credit approval process. Prospective tenants who complete an Application for Residential Tenancy are required to provide credit, rental history and employment information as well as other personal information that is used for identification purposes. Additional information, such as emergency contact information, is required from commercial and residential tenants in order to enable Shelter Canadian Properties Limited to respond to medical or other emergencies pertaining to an individual tenant or to a specific unit or suite. Vehicle particular information assists Shelter Canadian with its responsibilities in regard to parking control .

Tenants who use the website to submit on-line inquiries or requests to the Property Manager may also be required to submit limited personal information in order to enable Shelter Canadian to respond to the inquiry.

3. Employment Applications

Prospective employees who complete an Application for Employment are requested to provide personal contact information as well as employment and education history. Your personal information will be used in order to complete the employment application review process, however, your existing employer will not be contacted without your consent.

4. Investor Services

Personal information, such as name, address and telephone number, is collected from the investors of Shelter-managed properties for account identification purposes. Shelter Canadian disseminates the necessary personal information of the investors in accordance with the provisions of the Income Tax Act.

Security of Your Information

The Shelter Canadian Properties Limited website includes password protected log-in areas for residents, investors and employees in order to safeguard personal information which is being submitted or accessed over the internet. Data collection and transfer in the log-in areas and on all on-line inquiry forms is also protected with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. If you are concerned about the security of submitting personal information over the internet, you may wish to submit personal information by regular mail, facsimile or telephone.

Access to personal information that has been received by Shelter Canadian Properties Limited in the course of conducting its business is limited to the employees of Shelter Canadian who require the information to perform their duties, and to those otherwise authorized by law. Subject to providing satisfactory identification, you may access any personal information that Shelter Canadian Properties Limited has collected about you. Requests should be submitted, in writing, to Shelter Canadian Properties Limited and we will reply within 30 days of receipt of your request.
