We are pleased to advise that all clean up and restoration is virtually complete for the Shelter managed properties in Fort McMurray.
Exterior power washing of all buildings has commenced and is expected to be completed before the end of August 2016. Returning residents have inquired about their June rental payments during the period when re-occupancy of the properties was discouraged due to the presence of contaminants. It can take some time for an insurance claim of this magnitude to be processed by the insurers. We confirm, however, that any insurance proceeds that are received by Shelter Canadian for the period that the buildings were not considered to be in clean and habitable condition will be rebated to residents who paid June rent and were not in occupancy. We welcome our many new residents, as well as our returning residents, to the community of Shelter managed properties in Fort McMurray.
